AFTER SCHOOL SPORT
At West Beach Primary School, sport is a proud and valued part of our identity. With a long history of success, we provide students with the opportunity to develop skills, confidence and a lifelong love of being active in a supportive and inclusive environment.
Our Physical Education program is built around the Health and Physical Education curriculum, delivered with energy, expertise and high standards. At various times, students also benefit from specialist coaches across a range of sports, adding depth and excitement to their learning experience.
Beyond the classroom, and to compliment the curriculum, we offer a wide range of out-of-hours sporting opportunities for students from Reception to Year 6. These programs allow children to represent the school, build friendships and experience the joy of teamwork and competition.

We are known for our strong sporting culture – one that values respect, fairness and effort just as highly as performance.
Every student is encouraged to participate, improve and take pride in being part of our school community.
Registrations for school sport are communicated throughout the year via the Parent Sentral App and/or QKR App.
We are proud of our dedicated parent volunteers who support many of our programs in coaching and team management roles, helping to strengthen the connection between school and community.
A variety of sports are offered each year (subject to student nominations).
Participation typically involves a registration fee of $90–$120 (depending on the sport), along with a $10 uniform hire deposit.
SA SCHOOL SPORT
Schools Sport SA provides opportunities for students with advanced sporting ability to participate in a wide range of sports. It operates within the Department for Education and is open to all government and nongovernment schools with primary-aged students. Children aged 10 and above (or turning 10 that year) may be eligible depending on the sport and their ability.
West Beach Primary School has a strong history of involvement in Schools Sport SA, previously known as SAPSASA. As part of the Airport District, we participate in a variety of district and state carnivals and championships each year, nominating both teams and individual students.
Some less common sports also offer Schools Sport SA pathways. If your child competes at a high level outside of school and is interested in these opportunities, or if you have any questions, please contact the school for more information.
